Glacier Manor Community Residential Center

Glacier Manor Community Residential Center (CRC) is both a correctional facility and a program to assist residents toward becoming productive and responsible citizens. Certified by the Alaska Department of Corrections, Glacier Manor is a fully monitored, secure facility consisting of five buildings that can accommodate up to 85 residents.

What can you expect when you arrive at Glacier Manor CRC?

During orientation, an individualized program is established for each resident based on a needs assessment conducted by the resident’s case manager in conjunction with the assigned probation officer.  With all individualized programs, fulltime employment or education is mandatory.  Diligent case management is the foundation of services and the key to successful rehabilitation and post-conviction community re-entry into their own community.

National statistics show a strong link between crime and substance abuse. In order to provide a sober environment, all residents of Glacier Manor are subject to random drug and alcohol testing. Treatment and counseling, both formal and informal, are available at low cost for anyone who requests it.

Who is eligible for admission into Glacier Manor CRC?

Residents living at Glacier Manor CRC are incarcerated, on probation or parole, and have been referred from the Department of Corrections. 

How long do people live at Glacier Manor CRC?

Stays at Glacier Manor average 6 to 12 months, with a maximum stay of no more than 3 years.

What programs are available at Glacier Manor CRC?

Glacier Manor CRC offers both in-house and community based programming. Vocational assistance, Educational Services, living skills, resettlement aid, chemical dependency counseling, and other forms of counseling and treatment are available to each resident at no or low cost.

The program also includes access to an Alaska Native Art Program [link to Alaska Native Art Program] and a voluntary faith-based residence. Each component of Glacier Manor CRC programming is designed to provide maximum opportunities for residents to become stable before they transition back into the community.

How much does it cost to live at Glacier Manor CRC?

For the duration of their stay at GHS, all CRC residents work. 25% of their gross wages is deducted to pay their room and board, and an additional 20% is deducted towards any restitution, fines, or child support they may owe.
